Grammar note 语法点
把 + object + verb + complement
The 把 sentence moves the object before the verb to show what you do to it; the verb needs a result or direction after it, e.g. 把门关好 'close the door properly'.
我把包里的东西都拿了出来。 — I took everything out of the bag.
verb + 不到
不到 after a verb means the action cannot achieve its result: 找不到 'cannot find', 买不到 'cannot manage to buy'.
我找了很久,还是找不到。 — I searched for a long time and still couldn't find it.
……的时候
的时候 after a phrase means 'when/while ...', setting the time of the main event, e.g. 吃饭的时候别看手机.
我要去银行换钱的时候,突然发现护照丢了。 — Just when I was about to go to the bank to change money, I suddenly found my passport was lost.
