Grammar note 语法点

离 + place + 很近/远(distance from a place)

离 marks the reference point when saying how close or far something is.

新家离地铁站很近。— The new home is very close to the subway station.
虽然...但是...(although...but...)

虽然 introduces a fact, and 但是 introduces the contrast that follows.

虽然房租贵了一点,但是附近很方便。— Although the rent is a bit more, the area is very convenient.
让 + someone + verb(to have/let someone do something)

让 introduces the person and the action they are caused or allowed to do.

我告诉她新地址,让她周末来我家玩。— I gave her my new address and told her to come visit on the weekend.
